Maria de la Luz Villarreal, 76, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 30, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mexico on August 04, 1948.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Tiburcia Molina; a brother Pedro Molina; and a sister Maria Guadalupe Molina.
She is survived by her husband Julio Cesar Villarreal; children Cesar Villarreal and Leslie Leija; grandchildren Iker E. Leija and Madai Leija; sisters and brothers Maria Elena Molina, Maria del Carmen Amador, Sara Tenorio, Salvador Molina, and Jose Luis Molina.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A chapel service will commence at 2:00 p.m., interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
