Elias Longoria

Elias Longoria, of Brownsville, TX, devoted Father, Son, Cousin, and Friend, entered into eternal rest on December 27, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on May 9, 1969.

Elias is preceded in death by his father, Santiago “Jimmy” Longoria, maternal grandparents Pedro Gutierrez and Nina Cantu Gutierrez, paternal grandparents Jose and Aurora Longoria, and numerous aunts and uncles. He will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Samuel Elias Longoria and Alyssa Briana Longoria, mother Delia Longoria; mother of his children Monica Pina Longoria; countless uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Elias graduated from Homer Hanna School in 1987, and right after enlisted in the United States Army where he was Honorably discharged in 1991. He is a veteran of Desert Storm. He attended the University of Texas at Brownsville where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Finance. Elias worked as an Assistant Controller at Mission Hospital in Mission, Texas, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Was a proud member of his band Long Train Desperados along with his son Samuel Longoria, and his band mates Adan Ortiz, Damaris Guadiana and Joseph Escamilla.  South Padre Island was the place to be if you wanted to see the band play. Longboard & Claytons at SPI as well as C & C Wings and Cobbleheads in Brownsville. He also played with his very good friend Rob Gracia (who gave him the nickname Hollywood) in his band Rob Gracia Band when LTD was not booked. He also played with fellow bandmates in other bands such as Grupo Ilusion, Stone Free, Sidewinder, and 956.  Elias loved his family immensely, and will be greatly missed by all those who were in his presence.

A visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a military service at 5:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home &
Crematorium.  Services conclude at the end of the evening.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas. (956) 350-8485.
