Bertha was a dear friend of many years. Back to our days at Faulk Middle School. She was an exemplary educator, devoted wife, parent, and friend. The world will be a sadder place without her presence. May she rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.
Love and deepest sympathy to all the Pena family.

My deepest condolences to the Pena and Chapa family on the loss of your loved one,
our friend, our boss and our leader. Mrs. Pena was a true leader, who guided so many of
us in our educational aspirations. Her students loved her and referred to her as “their cheerleader”
for they knew she was always on their side, cheering them on in all they did. I was fortunate to work with her
at Faulk and at Lopez High school and to have developed a very strong professional relationship,
as well as a personal friendship. May she rest in peace and continue to keep her under her
wings from heaven. She left behind a beautiful legacy.

Mrs. Pena was a gem among humans. Her dedication to children and their education was extraordinary. So glad to have met her and worked with her. Deepest sympathies to her wonderful family. She often showed pictures of her grandchildren and was so proud of them.
