Maria Luisa Cantu, 82, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on December 14, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mexico on June 02 of 1942.
Maria Luisa was preceded in death by her husband Felicitos Cantu and a daughter Maria de Los Santos.
She is survived by her children Marianela (Peter) Bennett, Norma (Robert) Shearin, Felicitos (Zaidi) Cantu Jr., Cesario M. (Mary) Cantu, Mary Lou (Guadalupe) Izaguirre, Esmeralda (Marlo) Cantu; 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was always cheerful, had a contagious smile, enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, watching football, soccer games, novelas, and was an entrepreneur.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel will open at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 19, 2024, with a burial at 3:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
