It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Guadalupe Huerta, 58 of Los Fresnos, TX. A devoted 5th-grade teacher, loving mother, sister, and cherished wife, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, TX. on November 28, 2024 after a long and exhausting battle with cancer.
She was born in Brownsville, TX on December 20, 1965. She is preceded in death by her parents Guadalupe Serna and Meregilda Salcido-Serna and brother Armando Salcido.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 32 years, Marco Huerta; her beloved children, Bianca Adriana Huerta and Michael Anthony Huerta; her siblings Guadalupe Serna Jr. and Elizabeth Salcido; and numerous nieces and nephews, countless friends, colleagues, and students who were touched by her life.
While working at Los Fresnos C.I.S.D., she dedicated her career to nurturing young minds, inspiring countless students with her kindness, patience, and passion for learning. At home, she was the heart of her family offering unconditional love, strength, and support to those she held dear. Surrounded by her loving family in her final moments, she left a legacy of courage, love, and compassion that will be treasured by all who knew her.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 6, 2024 from 1:00pm – 9:00pm with Rosary at 7:00pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Brownsville, TX. A mass will be held December 7, 2024 at 10:00am at Our Lady Queen of the Universe in San Benito, TX. Interment will follow at Monte Meta Cemetery in San Benito, TX.
