Guadalupe S. Vallejo

Guadalupe S. Vallejo

Guadalupe Solis Vallejo, known affectionately as Lupita to her friends and family, was born on March 24, 1940, in Brownsville, Texas and passed away surrounded by her daughters in Brownsville on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Lupita was a beautiful soul whose love and generosity were apparent to everyone who knew her.  Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many.

Her selfless way of being as well as her love and care for her family was evident to all who knew her. She was a hardworking single mother who with her strong faith and hard work managed to raise her four children. And being the loving and caring mother that she was, she never stopped worrying for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She constantly inquired about their welfare as any good mother does.

Lupita also loved and enjoyed the company of her beloved siblings as well, especially her better half, Chayo; they were inseparable. Through the love of God, family, music, and simply the spirit of a joyful heart, she endearingly embraced every opportunity she had to gather with her family near and far.

Lupita is survived by her eldest daughter, Sylvia Cisneros (Cris,) and Belinda Vallejo, her daughter-in-law Sylvia Vallejo, her grandchildren: Leeann De la Fuente, April Vallejo, Kevin Vallejo, Cris Cisneros Jr., Stephen, Cisneros, Jacob Cisneros, Daniela Peña, and Josh Peña as well as various great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her dear sister Rosario Cortinas, her brothers Cristobal Solis, Ernesto Solis (Laura,) Rodolfo Solís (Josie,) David Solis (Yadhira,) Daniel Solis (Martina,) and her sister-in-law Olga Gonzalez.

Lupita was preceded in death by her parents, Roberto Solis Sr. and Ester Hernandez, her children Florentino Vallejo III (Sylvia,) and Leticia Vallejo, as well as her brothers Roberto Solis Jr. and Ramon Solis.

Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral home on Sunday, November 17th beginning at 12:00 PM noon with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Mass of resurrection will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 1:00 PM with Fr. Nicholas Harding presiding. Interment will follow afterwards at Rose lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Vallejo, Josh Peña, Marc Vidal, Cris Cisneros Jr., Stephen Cisneros, and Jacob Cisneros. Honorary pallbearers will be Cristobal Solis, Ernesto Solis, Rodolfo Solis, David Solis, and Daniel Solis.

A special thanks to Dr. Henry Imperial for caring for our mother for over thirty-five years as well as Dr. Bathla and Dr. Silva for their services.
Psalm 139:13-14 “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
Thank you, Mother, for always wanting and doing your best for us! You’ll be forever in our hearts.
