Our father, Jesus Francisco Morales, 82, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on August 4, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Parral, Chihuahua on June 5, 1942.

He is preceded in death by his parents Agustina De La O and Hermilo Morales Pimental; his wife Maria Inez Morales, daughter Patricia Morales, great-grandson Eddie Rodriguez Jr.

Left to cherish his memory is his 4 children Blanca Esthela Mendiola (Alfonso), Susana Cruz, Francisco Morales (Melissa), and Jessica M. Granado (James); 15 grandchildren Alfonso Mendiola Jr., Ricardo Mendiola, Monica Mendiola, Mario Mendiola, Sandra Rodriguez, Patty Dippong, Crystal Rodriguez, Joshua Cruz, Francisco Morales Jr., Sara Rodriguez, Jonathan Morales, Selmah Morales, Jazlynn Granado, Jianna Granado (Pedro), and James Granado Jr., 10 great-grandchildren Martin Valdivia, Erik Rodriguez, Mason Rodriguez, Ryan Rodriguez, Dezarai Dippong, Denise Dippong, Jordan Morales, Abbot Morales, Etzio Morales, and Arianelly Maria Torres.

Our beloved father started as an altar boy at the seminary to become a priest.  There he realized how much he loved music.  He learned to play the saxophone, clarinet, flute, and piano. He loved the beach and playing soccer.

He met the love of his life at a very young age and started a beautiful family.  They were happily married for 62 years.  His musical career included his participation in the Orquesta de Pilo Puente; was a member of the Freddy Fender band; Orquesta de Chicago; Banda Municipal de Matamoros, where he played the clarinet and later became the band director; Grupo Los Lara; duo with Jimmy Paz and recently ended his musical career with the Fabulous Cruisers.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 09, 2024, with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services resume on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church and interment is to follow at 1:00 p.m. to Buena Vista Burial Park.
