Erick William Zapata, 42, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted son, brother, uncle and friend, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 05, 2024, 2024, in Brownsville, TX, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville on January 18, 1982.
He is preceded in death by his brother Jaime Jorge Zapata.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving parents Mary Munoz Zapata and Amador Zapata Jr.; brothers Amador Zapata III, Carlos I. Zapata, Jose I. Zapata, and six nieces and nephews.
William loved his family and his friends and would make it a point to tell them that he loved and appreciated them as often as possible. One of William’s greatest joys was spending time with family and friends, and spoiling his nieces and nephews. With a big heart and a vibrant personality, William accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. His legacy of kindness, passion, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 08, 2024, with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services resume on Friday, August 09, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. and interment is to follow at 1:00 p.m. to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

William, You will be missed my friend. You always welcomed me with arms wide open and always made me feel at home. I will never forget the hunting and fishing trips we did especially the great BBQ’s. R.I.P. My deepest condolences to the Zapata family. God bless you all.
