Petra S Perez 87, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at her residence in Brownsville, TX, surrounded by her loving family.
Petra was a great mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great- great grandmother. She was a very loving and caring person, with a beautiful smile, always putting everyone’s needs before her own. She was also a very strong, and hardworking business woman.
She was a devoted Catholic, who enjoyed participating in church activities and giving back to her church and community. She loved to cook and enjoyed gardening.
Petra is preceded in death by her father Manuel Saldivar, her mother Luisa Saldivar, her husband Guadalupe Perez Sr., and her daughter Sylvia P Gonzalez.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Guadalupe Perez Jr (Brenda), Jaime Perez (Sylvia), Rosie Paredes (Luis), Manuel Perez (Selina), and son in law Alfonso Gonzalez Jr., 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, her siblings, Frances Trejo, Linda Paredes, Elvia Garcia, Alicia Perez.
Visitation will be held Thursday July 11, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm, at Sunset Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will then follow at 3:00 p.m. to Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Lupe Perez III, Esteban Perez, Rudy Perez, Manuel Perez Jr, Ricky Perez, Jaime Paredes, Gino Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers Luis Paredes Jr, Alfonso Gonzalez Jr, and Manuel Paredes.

There’s no words to express the lost of Mrs Perez. I had many memories i cherish in my heart. To the Perez family and sisters she left behind may God hold everyones hands and walk together in God we trust.
