Raul Oscar Garza, 71, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 06, 2024, at Spanish Meadows, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on February 4, 1953.
Raul Oscar Garza’s love for his family and his unwavering faith in the Lord were the cornerstones of his life. Oscar, as most people knew him, devoted his life to serving the Lord for most of his life. He was an active catholic who served at Immaculate Conception Cathedral and Communidad A.M.A. His legacy of love, faith and service will hopefully inspire all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father Roberto Garza and his mother Esperanza Garza; his brothers Sergio Garza, Carlos Garza and Manuel Garza.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of Felicitas M. Garza; his children Roberto Eliud Garza (Maria Elizabeth), Raul Oscar Garza Jr. (Claudia Patricia), and Ana Cristina Mendoza (Gonzalo Humberto); his grandchildren Viviana Veronica Garza, Vanessa Victoria Garza, Ximena Sofia Garza and Raul Oscar Garza III; his brother Rodolfo Garza and his sisters Dolores Soto and Aide Guzman.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024 with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with a Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. at Comunidad AMA located at 700 Fruitdale, Brownsville, TX and interment to follow at 3:00 p.m. to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
