Gustavo Nuño Parra, 96, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 06, 2024, at Valley Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mexico on May 11, 1928.
He is preceded in death by his father Manuel Nuño Cosio and his mother Maria Dolores Parra Briseño, his brothers Francisco Nuño Parra and Fernando Nuño Parra.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Guadalupe López de Nuño; his children Marisela Nuño López, Alma Farias (Juan), Gustavo Nuño López (Elva), Manuel Nuño López (Angelica), Silvia Dolores Nuño López (Jesus), Elizabeth Nuño López, Francisco (Irma) Nuño, Norma Angelica Nuño López (Cesar), Edna Laura Nester-Nuño (Christopher), Claudia Alvarado (Gerardo), Adah Marie Nuño (Omar), Maria Fernanda Cortez (Tomas), Cecilia Ivonne Nuño López (Gonzalo); 38 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild .
Hombre de caracter indomable con un corazon de oro que siempre brindo una mano amiga a quienes le rodeaban. Padre de familia, amable, gentil, con una fuerza interior tranquila, que amo y fue fiel a Dios y a su familia.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The visitation continues from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
