David Gerardo Ochoa 65, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 03, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Brownsville, TX, on September 26, 1958.
David was married to the love of his life for 43 years. He worked for H-E-B Grocery for 38 years until his retirement in 2015. He loved his career, helping people and was a well-respected pillar of the community. He loved his family and the apple of his eyes was his granddaughter Auralee R. Gonzalez. He opened his heart to all his family, H-E-B Partners and Friends and will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his mother Zoila H. Ochoa and his father Gilbert S. Ochoa.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years Elizabeth A. Ochoa; his daughter Sabrina Ochoa of Brownsville, TX and his daughter Audrey O. Gonzalez (Rudy Gonzalez) of Helotes, TX; his granddaughter Auralee R. Gonzalez; his brother Hilario Ochoa (Alicia Ochoa) of Marana Arizona and his brother Gilbert A. Ochoa of Brownsville, TX; his aunt Helen Drumright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 06, 2024 with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 07, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with a Chapel Service at 12:00 p.m. and inurnment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park at 1:00 p.m.

I had the privilege of working with David for many years at H-E-B. It was always a pleasure to be around him. He always had a smile for everyone. I had tremendous respect for him and was sad to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family. RIP David
