Gloria P. Diaz, 83, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Mesa Hills Post Acute Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 12, 1941, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Diaz; her grandson Luis Gerardo Diaz Jr.; and her parents Jose and Maria Pena.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Juan Manuel Diaz (Rosario), Norma Evelia Perez (Juan), Carlos Javier Diaz (Maria), Luis Gerardo Diaz, and Nereyda Alely Gonzalez (Jaime); and numerous grand and great grandchildren; and her sisters Aurora Solis and Guadalupe Peña Cepeda.
She will be greatly missed.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, with recitation of The Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and interment is to follow at 1:00 p.m. to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
