Melissa Ann Puente, 29, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, TX, on May 10, 1995.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Guilibaldo and Elisa Puente and maternal grandparents Gabriel Saldana and Maria Eva Quezada.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents Valerio Puente and Marisela Saldana; her brothers and sisters Gustavo Puente and family, Dayssi Puente, Valerio Puente Jr. and family, Chantal Puente; aunts and uncles, Ramiro Yanez, Hildebrando and Teresa Puente, and Marbelia Puente; her uncle Gulibaldo Puente; her cousins Bibiana, Ignacio, Cristina, Mayra, Juan Pablo, Hildebrando Jr., Cynthia, Alejandra, Jonathan, Brayan, Aileen, Angelique, Jose, Jordyn, Zayden, and Nicolas.
She enjoyed drawing and playing games, specifically drawing Sonic, Dragonball Z and all of her favorite artists such as Selena, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey. You can catch her always quoting her favorite shows Friends and Golden Girls. She was such a sweet, kind, and innocent soul, full of laughter and joy.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024 with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 8:30 a.m., with a Chapel Service at 10:00 a.m. and interment to follow at Las Rusias Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
