Eduardo Vera, Jr., 73, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, entered eternal rest on March 23, 2024, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on May 29, 1950.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eduardo Vera, Sr. and Sara Alvarez Vera; his daughter Sarah Anne Vera; and his loyal dog Tiny.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Mercedes Vera; his children Rosalinda Vera, Cynthia (Juan) Garza, Eduardo F (Libby) Vera; granddaughters Cindy, Elisha Nicole, Kylee Joanne, and Ruby Grace.
Eduardo Vera along with his father Eduardo Vera, Sr., both managed Vera Fruit Market on 18th street and were famous for selling tripas, barbacoa, and the coldest beer in town. He had a passion for motorcycles, he loved riding to the Bike Fest at South Padre Island. He proudly got to own two Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed going to breakfast at Juanita’s Café next door to his house, or to his other favorite place, Whataburger. He will always be loved but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, with a Prayer Service officiated by his childhood friend, Mon/Sacerdote Roberto Sinfuentes, at 5:30 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
