Juan Antonio Tijerina Gutierrez, 71, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mexico on July 10, 1952.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years Guadalupe B. Tijerina; his children Maria E. (Hernan Gomez) Tijerina, Maria E. (Francisco) Ibarra, Margarita (Jose Luis) De Leon, Martha (Raul) Barbosa, Minerva (Juan) Gaytan, Roberto Rojas, Ivan Rojas, Rufino (Minerva) Martinez; Special Honors for his grandkids Hernan, Briana, Daleyza, and Damian Gomez; also surviving him are numerous grandkids, great-great grandkids, and great-great-great grandkids.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the chapel will open at 10:00 a.m., with a chapel service at 12:00 p.m. and burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park at 1:00 p.m. Honored to be his pallbearers are Hernan Gomez, Hernan Gomez Jr., Joshua Martinez, Roberto Rojas, Ivan Rojas, and Jose Luis Lopez.
