Maria Isabel Soto Muñoz, 53, of Brownsville, TX, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered eternal rest on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, TX on October 05, 1970
She is preceded in death by her parents, Julia M. Soto and Jose Angel R. Soto.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Julia Monique (Juan Pablo) Mares; her sisters, Maria Elena (Israel) Hernandez, Maricela S. (Alonso) Reyna, Margarita S. (Gilberto) Figueroa, and Marina Alegria; her grandchildren, Juan Pablo Mares, Jr., and Azriel Hernan Mares; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who she loved very much.
After a long battel with renal failure, Maria Isabel went to be with the Lord. Maria Isabel had many friends and relatives who she loved greatly. Her greatest loves in her life were her daughter, Julia Monique, and her grandchildren, Juan Pablo Mares, Jr., and Azriel Hernan Mares, who were her pride and joy. She will be missed and loved greatly by all.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 03, 2024, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Mass of resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 04, 2024, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Juan Pablo Mares, Alonso Reyna, Jr., Juan E. Alegria, Gilberto Figueroa, Jr., Alonso Reyna and Michael A. Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Juan Pablo Mares, Jr. and Azriel Hernan Mares.
