Manuel Hernandez Jr., 51, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, entered eternal rest on December 9, 2023, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, TX on July 23, 1972.

Manuel was a father figure to many nephews and nieces. He did Gods work in so many ways. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. His love for the Dallas Cowboys began at the young age of two years old when he shared that love with his father. Always a giving and caring individual, he will forever be missed by the love of his life Margie. – One love, One life.

He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel Hernandez Sr. and Maria Lina Castilleja; and his two sisters Juana and Leticia Hernandez.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Margarita Hernandez; his two daughters Jennifer Hernandez and Citlali Roman; his son Amari Hernandez; his only grandchild Avery Fortiscue; his three sisters Alicia, Amparo, and Sylvia; and his two brothers Hector Roman and Ruben Hernandez.

Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opens at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and a Mass of Resurrection will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Internment is to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Guillen Community Cemetery.
