Tiburcio “Tibo” Rodriguez Jr.

Tiburcio “Tibo” Rodriguez Jr., 74, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered

eternal rest on November 30, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center Brownsville surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Olmito, TX on February 23, 1949.

He is preceded in death by his parents Julia and Tiburcio Rodriguez, son Edgar Tiburcio Rodriguez, his sisters Bertha Rodriguez and Eugenia Castillo and a brother Reyes Rodriguez.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Maria C. Rodriguez, children Carmen G. (Roy) Reyes, Mario O. (Teresa) Rodriguez, and Magdalena (Maggie) Rodriguez, grandchildren, Reba and Cory L. Reyes, Mario O. Jr. and Edgar Rodriguez, also surviving him are three sisters and one brother.

Tibo was a dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Tibo showed many the true meaning of value and hard work.  He enjoyed playing softball, watching soccer, spending time outside with his plants and raising his chickens.  Tibo was always very proud of his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments.  Tibo was a storyteller amongst all sorts of traits you’d be fortunate to hear one.

Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. On Thursday, December 7, 2023, a Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
