Elvira Teresa Calderon, 90, of Brownsville, TX, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on September 25, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Mexico on May 28, 1933.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J. De Jesus Calderon and her mother Maria Soledad Lopez.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Jesus Martin (Maria Martina) Calderon, Blanca (Carlos) Vasquez, Alma Delia Calderon, Laura Isela (Cesar Armando) Fuentes, Victor Arturo (Claudia Jannete) Calderon; her grandchildren, Estefania, Fatima, Carla, Christian, Gabriela, Delia Cristina, Salvador, Sergio, Cesar Armando, Juana Armandina, Josue, Baltazar, Victor Arturo, Obed, Isai and Abner.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, between the hours of 12:00-8:00 p.m. with the recitation of The Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, until departure of funeral procession at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
