Nora Estella Perez, 57, of Brownsville, TX, devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest September 13, 2023, at Solara Specialty Hospital in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Edinburg on June 20, 1966.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ester Rivas Treviño, her sister Dahlia Rivas; and her brother, Robert Rivas.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Tomas Perez III, her son Tomas Perez IV; her daughter Sarah Michelle Perez; her father Daniel Rivas Jr.; her brother, Daniel Rivas III; her sisters Teresa Treviño (Luis Treviño), Diana Tanguma Rivas (Roland Tanguma), and Danielle Rivas.
Nora always loved to say she never met a stranger. It was impossible for Nora to go anywhere without bumping into a friend and stopping to catch up. Aside from being a loving wife and mother, her passion was teaching. She was a devoted and accomplished Master Teacher at IDEA Riverview for many years, and she left her mark on countless students’ and fellow educator’s lives. She loved cows, Baby Groot, Forky and eating her movie popcorn. She liked to pretend she didn’t want pets, but her cat Gumby, and all of her 7 fur grandbabies became her world. Nora was a beautiful soul and will be deeply missed by everyone who was ever lucky enough to have known and loved her.
Visitation is scheduled from 1PM to 8PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023, with a Holy Rosary at 6PM. Services conclude at the end of the evening.
