Octaviano R. Sanchez, 83, of Brownsville, TX, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest, Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mexico on January 19, 1940.
He is preceded in death by his son Luis Roberto Sanchez; his parents Octaviano Dimas Sanchez and Amada Rodriguez de Sanchez; siblings Tomas Rodriguez Sanchez (Mellie), Daniel Rodriguez Sanchez (Juanita), and Irma (Sanchez) Gatica (Marco Antonio).
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Oliva Amalia Ariceaga de Sanchez; children Alma Rosa Atkinson (Eloy), Jessica Denisse Castillo (Enrique Antonio), Juan Carlos Sanchez (Katherine); grandchildren Eloy Atkinson (Jade), Cassandra Renee Zuniga, Erik Thomas Atkinson (Stephanie), Enrique Antonio Castillo, Jr. (Madison Maree), Patrik Elliott Atkinson (Amanda), Jessica Carolina Gonzales (Richard), Christian Robert Sanchez, Matteo Maximiliano Castillo, Camille Rose Sanchez; Calista Grace Sanchez; great-grandchildren Bennett Eli Atkinson, Tyler Lane Zuniga, Blake Ellie Atkinson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25th, 2023, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 10AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with a chapel service at 12PM. Interment to follow at 1PM at Buena Vista Burial Park.
