Amalio I. Pérez

Amalio I. Pérez went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2023. He was born in Brownsville, TX on December 31, 1940. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Lupita C. Pérez, his parents Juan G. and Francisca I. Pérez and his siblings Oralia P. Eriksen, Nicolas, Aquileó, Rosendo, Juan and Alfredo Pérez.

He is survived by his sister Frances Baldwin (Richard A.) , brothers Alejandro (Minerva), Abelardo (Carol), and Enrique Pérez. He was also blessed with many nieces and nephews whom he loved and treasured. Amalio served in the Army, he was a graduate of Brownsville High School and Texas A&I University. He was co-owner of Distinctive Lighting for many years. He and his wife were members of the Mr. and Mrs. Club and a couples’ bunco group.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 6PM to 9PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Friday, April 28, 2023, at 9AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. With Funeral Mass to follow at 11AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Interment at 12PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be: Benjamin Baldwin, Dr. Jonathan Baldwin, Alfredo Pérez, David Pérez, Humberto Cisneros, and Cristobal Cisneros. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Guerrero and Enrique Pérez.
