Zulema Torres

Zulema Torres, 87, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into eternal rest on April 9, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 3, 1936, in Brownsville, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Alberto and Zulema De Leon, loving husband Eduardo Torres, first born baby Eduardo Torres; brothers, Arnoldo “Lolo,†Candelario “Wille,†Francisco, Homero, Ricardo and Arturo De Leon.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Eduardo (Rosa Maria) Torres, Valentin (Carmen) Torres, Pedro (Maria) Torres, Abel (Maria) Torres, Alberto, Aroldo (Margarita) Torres of Brownsville, Texas, and Antonio Torres of South Bend, Indiana; daughters Esmeralda Torres, Francisca Torres, Maria Elena (Olga) Torres, Gloria Sylvia (Leonel) Garza, Rosalinda (Armando) Olivas of Brownsville, Texas; brothers, Jose De Leon, Javier De Leon, and Oscar De Leon; sisters, Felipa Ruiz and Maria Hernandez; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 1PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 12PM to 8PM with a chapel service at 3PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
