Alfonso Ramirez Cortez Jr., 81, of Los Fresnos, Texas, devoted husband, father, brother, friend, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, went to be with our Lord on December 20, 2022, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Lori Ann Ortiz; parents Alfonso L. Cortez and Guadalupe R. Cortez; brother Alfredo Cortez; great-grandchild Khloe Chanel Villarreal.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Manuela G. Cortez; children Yvonne C. (Arturo) Rangel, Yvette C. (Juan) Perez, Alfonso (Melissa) Cortez Jr., Arturo (Cecilia) Cortez, Darlene D. (Alfredo) Ruiz; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Friday, December 23, 2022, at 12PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral mass to follow at 2PM at Lord of Divine Mercy Catholic Church. Interment will be at 3PM at Los Cuates Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alfonso Cortez Jr., Arturo Cortez, Roy Reyes, Rene Ramirez, David Ramirez, Christian Rangel, Gabriel Bernal, Jose A.
