Gloria G. Ruth, 91, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend entered into eternal rest on December 13, 2022, at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on June 29, 1931.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lino K. Garcia and Maria C. Garcia; siblings Olga Trujillo, Mela Sanchez, Joe Garcia, Raul Garcia, Lino K. Garcia Jr., Sonia Villarreal, and Dora Capistran.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Elijio Ruth; children Mary Ann Valdez, Elena (Charlie) Williams, and Margie (Robert) Perez; siblings Israel Garcia and Eziquiel Garcia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Gloria was a lifelong resident of Brownsville. She was an avid reader, coin collector, and a great friend to many. She loved to gamble and travel with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 10AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with a chapel service to follow at 12PM. Interment will be at 1PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Eli I just found out of your wife’s passing. My wife Betty passed away 4 months ago. I know how you feel. I remember when we would run into each other at the casinos. Que triste es esto los recuerdos. God Bless you and your family.
