Irma Solitaire

Irma Solitaire, 90, a descendant of the Solitaire and Roussett pioneering families and lifelong resident of Brownsville, Texas, born on April 7, 1932, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Saturday, 10th of December 2022.

Irma was independent, giving, and loving individual who was entirely devoted to her family, and loved gardening, dancing, and sewing. She worked for 37 years as an Assistant Director to the Brownsville Housing Authority and was a member of Elks Lodge. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alberto, and Iola (Roussett) Solitaire; siblings Arnulfo Solitaire, Mary Lou Douglas, and Alberto Solitaire; son in law David Hill.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Cynthia Hill; son, Francisco Galvan Jr.; sister, Minerva Rodriguez; 5 grandchildren Vanessa Garza, Damian (Christine) Galvan, Monica Galvan, Joshua (Angie), and Andrea (Michael) Rasco; 6 great-grandchildren. She will deeply be missed.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 3PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, located at 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas 78526. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 2PM at St. Luke Catholic Church with Christian burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
