Marco “Mark†Antonio Salas Jr., beloved, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2022, during a brief trip to Jasper, Indiana. Mark was born on November 7, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois to Marco Antonio Salas & Ruby Jean Salas. Mark grew up in Brownsville and graduated from James Pace High School in 1983. He relocated to Houston where he owned and operated his own business for several years before, more recently, moving to San Antonio.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving parents, his wife, Raquel C. Salas (San Antonio) 2 sisters; Liz “Lisa†Valdez and husband, David (Los Fresnos) and Sandra Trevino (San Antonio); his 2 daughters Alexandria Salas Navey and husband, Nathaniel (San Antonio) and Samantha Salceda and husband, Josue (Houston); his granddaughter Aurora Navey (San Antonio); his stepdaughter, Marissa Hachfeld (San Antonio), his nieces Rayne E. Trevino and Peyton Elizabeth Trevino (San Antonio); his nephews, Dr. David Lee Valdez II and wife, Xchel (Harlingen) Kyle Benjamin Valdez (Los Fresnos), along with several cousins and numerous friends and associates.

Mark loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, boating on the lake, hunting, barbecuing, riding his Harley, karaoke, and dancing. Mark had a bright and energetic personality and was known to light up a room. Mark left us far too soon, but his memory will live on in our hearts.

Visitation is on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory.
