Juan Montero

Juan Montero, 78, Brownsville, Texas devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Monterrey, Mexico, on September 28, 1944.

He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio Montero and Juana Grimaldo de Montero.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years Antonia Chavana Montero; his children Juan Francisco (Criselda), Brenda Liz (David), Jorge Ivan (Jessica), and Cynthia Areli; grandchildren Darian Antonio, Eric, Aaron, Diego Ivan, and Alina Paola; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Juan was a hard-working and well-respected person who always put his family first before anything else. He worked as a pharmacist in Valle Hermoso and Matamoros, Mexico, before moving to Brownsville where he worked in sales in various businesses in Downtown Brownsville. He was very proud of his birthplace, Monterrey, always affectionately talking about his beautiful city. 

He was a big sports fan and loved rooting for the Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, but most of all his beloved Rayados del Monterrey.

Above all, Juan loved his family and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
