Francisco Moises “Moy†Garza, Jr. of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest August 21, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on August 16, 1948.

He is preceded in death by his father, Francisco Moises Garza, his mother Rebecca Mora, brother Daniel Garza and sister Maria Garza.

Left to cherish his memory is his spouse Margarita Garza, daughters Yvonne Garza (Jose Salas), Michelle Lee Cisneros (Alberto Cisneros), sons Mark Anthony Garza (Michelle Foster) and Francisco Moises Garza III, sisters Perla Martin and Librada Garza. Grandchildren are Mark Anthony Garza, Jr, Tizoc Alan Garza-Platt, Phoenix Metzli Garza-Platt, Alejandro Alberto Cisneros, Gavin Zane Cisneros, Luis Necalli Salas, Maddison Irene Garza, Camaxtli Moises Salas, Zayden Chase Cisneros, Mia Grace Garza, and Camila Rey Garza.

Moy was an inspiration to many. Moy was selfless, caring and was always willing to give a helping hand and welcomed anyone he came across with open arms. His wisdom and loving heart were a guiding light for many who had the opportunity to meet him. Moy was not only a father to his own children, but to many other friends and family that came into his home.

Moy graduated from the University of Texas Pan American-Brownsville with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a minor in Finance, all while working a full-time job and raising a family with his wife, Margarita Garza. He took great pride in serving as President of his business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi.

Moy loved and enjoyed the company of his family, especially his ten grandchildren. He had a passion for history and a love for nature and the beautiful natural resources located in Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 2PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the end of the evening. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas. (956) 350-8485
