Amalia A. Wood, 83, of Brownsville, TX, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mexico on April 20, 1939.
Left to cherish her memory is her children; Joe Torres Jr., Hilda De Leon (Salvador), Lilliana Casas (Francisco E); grandchildren; Linda, Hilda, Cynthia, David, Joe Jr., Julian Jr., Gina, Paloma, Salvador Jr., Aaron, Marvel, Alondra, Francisco Jr., and Enniel; 29 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Amalia was a beautician for over 55 years. She enjoyed life, was a devoted Christian. She loved having family gatherings, traveling, and always lending a helping hand.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 5, 2022, from 1PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 7PM. Visitation continues Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11AM with a chapel service at 2PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral. Interment will follow at 3PM at Guillen Community Cemetery.
