Our beautiful Queen, Maria Inez Morales, 77, of Brownsville, TX, a devoted wife, dedicated and lovely mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend entered eternal rest on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

“Mi Reyna†as her husband of over 62 years of marriage calls her, was born on September 05, 1944 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, MX. Maria Inez met the love of her life and married at a young age starting a beautiful family, a family that she dedicated her life to. She enjoyed music and dancing, especially, listening to her renowned husband play the saxophone. Mrs. Morales was a woman of faith who instilled family values, selflessness and education in her children. A humble heart has gone before us, an inimitable distinctive cook is now in the courts of heaven. She will forever live in our hearts, her memory will live on, and in heaven we will reunite.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cruz Ledezma and Guillermina Nieto Ponce; one daughter, Patricia Morales and her great-grandson Eddie Rodriguez Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Jesus Francisco Morales; four children, Blanca Esthela Mendiola (Alfonso), Susana Cruz, Francisco Morales (Melisa), and Jessica M. Granado (James); grandchildren, Alfonso Mendiola Jr., Ricardo Mendiola, Monica Mendiola, Mario Mendiola, Sandra Rodriguez, Patty Dippong, Crystal Rodriguez, Joshua Cruz, Francisco Morales Jr., Sarah Rodriguez, Johnathan Morales, Selmah Morales, Jazlynn Granado, Jianna Granado, and James Granado Jr.; great-grandchildren Martin Valdivia, Erik Rodríguez, Masón Rodríguez, Ryan Rodríguez, Dezarai Dippong, Denise Dippong, Jordan Morales, Abbot Morales, and Etzio Morales.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Monday, August 1, 2022 at 8AM with Mass of Christian burial being celebrated at 10AM at St. Luke Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
