Juan Jose Perez, 64, entered into Eternal Life on Monday, July 11, 2022, at Valley Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on September 26, 1957. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maria De Jesus “Nana†Perez, his brother George David “Choche†Perez and his sister Maria Del Rosario “Chayena†Garcia.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving mother, Maria Del Carmen Perez, sister Maria Estela “Lita†Garza, and brother Lorenzo L. Perez, his loving precious daughters, Stephanie Ann Perez, Joann Perez, and Rose Chayen Perez, his loving three grandsons, Joshua Jeremiah Tovar, Samuel Joseph Tovar, and Rayden Hayze Perez. Also surviving his loving nephews, nieces, uncle, aunt, and cousins.

Juan was known for his humor that made everyone laugh in his life, despite his health issues. Juan loved to listen to oldies, play domino, and cook, but most of all he enjoyed eating. Juan worked for many years as a shrimper during his lifetime in the Gulf of Mexico.

Juan will be greatly missed by every person who had the grace of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10AM on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at St. Thomas Catholic Church (155 E. Jefferson St., Brownsville, Texas, 78520) Interment will follow at 11AM at Buena Vista Burial Park (125 McDavitt Blvd., Brownsville, Texas) Serving as pallbearers will be Estela “Lita†Garza, Stephanie Ann Perez, Ricardo Garcia, David Gomez, Juan Uribe, Miguel Castillon, Rudy Garza and Jose Luis Aldape.
