Gabriel Mendieta

Gabriel Mendieta, 56, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted brother, uncle, and friend entered into eternal rest on May 24, 2022, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.

He is preceded in death by his parents Felipe and Josefina Mendieta; one brother Juan Angel Mendieta; nephew Jose Angel Fuentes; and a niece Veronica Fuentes.

Left to cherish his memory is his sisters Maria P. (Rudy) Villafranca and Jessica (Chris) Croy; five nieces Marisol, Ruby, Savannah, Peyton, and Hailey; and one nephew Omar.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 1PM to 8PM with mariachis at 5:15PM, prayer service at 6PM, and the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Gabe at the Federal Courthouse. I have wonderful memories of Gabe, especially during football season. COWBOYS – TEXANS. He was a wonderful person, kind hearted. You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts.
