Richard Galvan, Mentor and Friend with a Gift of Leadership, passes at 61.

Mr. Galvan approached life with light from an early age and met the love of his life, Ninfa while attending school. They married and had three children- Tracy, Benjamin, and Andrew. He continued his education and eventually became a principal for Brownsville Independent School District. After his wife’s passing, he left the school district then led children and adults into successful jobs and positive experiences as a Social Worker at the Texas Workforce Commission. With a life full of dedication to studentship, leadership, fatherhood, and grandfather hood, Rick passed on from natural causes on Friday, April 29, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Angel Galvan and Guadalupe Galvan, his wife Ninfa Galvan, and his brother Jose Angel Galvan. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tracy Galvan, Benjamin Galvan, and Andrew Galvan, and his siblings, Elizabeth Galvan, Susanna Benavidez, Angie Benavidez, Anita Reyna, Rafael Galvan, Ismael Galvan, and Armando Galvan. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday May 5, 2022, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
