Jorge A. Velez, 60, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on April 9, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on June 8, 1961.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rafael Velez and Rosa Isabel Ochoa.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sonia Velez; children Jorge (Veronica) Velez Jr., Erick (Victoria) Velez, Ivan (Samantha) Velez, Priscila Velez, Jonathan Velez, and Jesus Velez; grandchildren Alex, Maria, Jorge III, Leah, Ivan, Mia, Elise, Elijah, Giovani, and Debbie.
Jorge was a great, son, father, husband, grandfather, and friend. He was loved by all who knew him. Always giving a word of advice specially to the younger generations. Always willing to help and serve others. He will be missed and loved by all.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 5:30PM to 8:30PM with a prayer service at 6:30PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
