Duane “Bud” Mack Payne

Duane “Bud†Mack Payne went to our Heavenly Father on Friday, February 25th at 5:50 p.m. He was surrounded by his wife Yolanda “Jo” daughter Gina and son-in-law David. He will forever be in our hearts.

     Bud was born in Bartlesville, OK on June 26, 1941, to Lawrence Leslie Payne and Thelma Marie King. He married Yolanda “Jo” Valadez and was happily married to her for 56 yrs.

     Bud is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Monica Mae Wanzer; siblings Robert Eugene Payne, Thomas William (Billy) Haydan, Clarissa Maxine Haydon Teel, Paul Ernest Haydon, Betty Patricia Payne Hicks, Bonnie Darlene Payne Mckee, Billy Joel Payne, Mary Jolene Payne Falls, Monty Lee Payne Treft, Tommy Gordan Payne, and Donna Kay Payne Johnson.

     Left to cherish his memory is his wife, daughters; Tina Marie Manlangit and Gina Marie Payne (David), his granddaughters; Kayla Mae Lawson, Tracy Marie Hicks, Myra Manlangit and Emily Marie Garcia, 5 great grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews. He loved his entire family and extended family dearly.

     A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Advent Episcopal Church, Brownsville, Texas.

     We would like to thank his Church family, the Valley Baptist ER Staff, Brownsville EMS, and the entire staff at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home for all they have done for Bud and his family. We are so grateful.

     In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, The Veterans Health Administration or Church of the Advent in his honor.
