Jose A. Reyes, 77, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on February 10, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on June 20, 1944. He lived in Brownsville, Texas for 47 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Elisa Balderas and Jose Reyes; siblings Eleazar Reyes, Remigio Reyes, and Oralia Villarreal.
He is survived by his wife Irene O. Reyes, children maria (Juan) Lerma, Leticia (Sergio) De La Garza, Jose (Belen) Reyes Jr., and Juan (Gloria) Reyes; siblings Reynaldo Reyes, Oscar Reyes, Manuela Acevedo, Concepcion Garcia, Magdalena Salazar, and Elvia Ramos; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 1PM to 8PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the end of the evening. Our Condolences to the Reyes Family on their loss. He was such a great humble, hard working person. I remember the day I met him, on the behalf of my sister. He loved working as a AGRICULTURAL FAMILY. I would never forget his smile and laughter. So sad he left us so soon. Now he is in a better place.
