Fred worked for the Cameron County Elections Department as the G.I.S. Coordinator from 2002 up until his retirement in 2017. Throughout his career, he made many friends who eventually became like family. You could often catch him talking about Star Trek, WrestleMania, cigars or quoting scenes from Sixteen Candles or The Breakfast Club. Fred enjoyed talking about his granddaughter and he couldn’t wait to meet his new grandbaby coming this Spring. He would pass his time sitting outside smoking a nice cigar and listening to Classic Rock with his pup, Zelda, watching a Dallas Cowboys game or Monday Night WWE RAW. Fred was a kind man with a big heart who loved to make people laugh and always had a joke on hand. There will never be a bigger Dallas Cowboys Fan (DC4L) and he will forever be the true World Heavyweight Champion.

My deepest condolences to the Garza family. I have many memories of hanging out with the Garza family at bbq’s and other occasions. I can recall just recently that Fred stopped by my place to say hello. We caught up a bit. We laughed and talked about some of the crazy things we did when we were younger. He mentioned that he had someone special in his life that made him complete again. You will be missed but never forgotten my dear friend. Rest in peace
    Big Fred

Freddy was a greater than life person. He had a great sense of humor and was a straight shooter. I met him back in 7th grade and I only have fond memories of him. We met a couple of months ago and enjoyed reminiscing of the good old days.
    Rest in peace Freddie
