Adan F. “Rey” Perez, 77, of Brownsville, TX, entered into eternal rest on January 20, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Brownsville, TX on August 21, 1944. He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Eulogia Perez; siblings Gil Perez, Efrain Perez, Manuel Perez, Jr., Lita Borrego, Encarnacion Perez and Santa Becerra.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Alejandrina Perez, his children Norma Paredes (Marcos Jr.), Adan Perez, Jr. (Isabel), Cindy Perez Waddle (Nathan), 6 grandchildren, Marcos Paredes III, Alexandria Nicole Paredes, Destiny Arabella Waddle, Aizen Xade Perez, Scarlett Kai Perez, and Indie Adelyn Perez, 2 brothers Rene O. Perez, Don Perez (Mary), and 2 sisters Gracie Kanalas (John) and Irma Vega (Xavier).

Rey, as he was known by many, was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. The simplest pleasures in life brought him great joy. He loved a quiet evening at home with his wife. He was a true jack of all trades and the person you called upon when you needed a helping hand. He enjoyed watching sports with his children, especially his beloved Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros.  He also enjoyed working on his puzzle books and playing card games.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at San Pedro Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Pedro Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home at 657 Springmart Blvd. Brownsville, TX 78520.
