Alihia Marie Cruz

Alihia Marie Cruz

Our beloved Alihia Marie Cruz was born on November 26, 1999, in Brownsville, Texas. Alihia had two beautiful parents who she loved with all her heart, her (Mother/Grandmother) Mary Rodriguez and her (Father/Uncle) Israel Rodriguez who she called “Mom†and “Pops†and loved immensely.

On Monday, December 06, 2021, God decided he needed Alihia and therefore she passed away without warning. Alihia’s death has left family, friends and those who were blessed in knowing her with a profound sadness. Alihia, had so many hopes, dreams, and goals for her life. She loved and participated in beauty pageants and has left her bedroom decorated with many trophies and medals, she loved school, dancing, playing pranks on her Pops and younger siblings but best of all she loved God and never missed a Sunday service.

There truly was not anything that Alihia could not do, she touched everybody’s lives and made it a point to make all those she encountered feel so important and special and closer to God. She showed up when it mattered, had your back, gave to those in need, and would defend and stand up for her loved ones should the need for it arise.

Alihia is survived by her birth mother Angelica Maria Hernandez (Michael) ,brothers, Brandon Cruz (Maggie) and Randy Garza, Sisters Hayden Garza and Kayla Garza, her uncle, Victor Rodriguez (Terry), and Aunt Elizabeth Rodriguez (Ruben). Her Cousins Jose Javier Rodriguez Jr., Ashley Ann Rodriguez, Omar Alvarez, Jose Angel Alvarez, Kazzandra Ann Rodriguez, Darian, Linus, Detrick, and Elvira Rodriguez. Many other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews and Nieces.

Alihia is preceded in death by her grandfather, Alejandro Mata Silva, her Great-grandparents, Trinidad and Elvira Gonzalez.

“You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.†(Author Unknown).
