Leonarda Vela, 95, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Estanislao Vela; children Ignacio Vela and Jaime Vela; grandchildren Jesus Vela, and Guadalupe Vela.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Oralia Vela, Estanislao Vela Jr., Elena Vela, Andrea Vela, Sergio E. Vela, Jesus R. Vela, Yolanda Vela, and Cesar Vela; 24 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021, from 1 to 8 PM with a prayer service at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 8 AM with a chapel service at 10 AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 11 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park.
