Gloria C. Casarez, 92, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest on October 7, 2021 at Rio at Fox Hollow surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Realitos, Texas on September 6, 1929.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lauro Cantu and Candelaria Tijerina; husband Daniel Casarez Sr.; son, Daniel Casarez Jr.; daughter Maria C. Alvarez; and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Brownsville Fire Capt. (Retired) Jose L. Casarez; daughters Dalila C. Sanchez, Gloria Santiago and Norma Casarez; 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 12 noon to 8 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 4 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
