Elida D. Vela

Elida D. Vela, 64, of Brownsville, TX, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into eternal rest on September 30, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on April 12, 1957.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ramona and Juan Dimas; and her husband Juan Vela.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Veronica Vela Casados and Monica Vela; 5 sisters Teresa Dimas, Norma Garza, Christina Rodriguez, Mary Hernandez, and Betty Cisneros; 4 brothers Juan Dimas, Jesus Dimas, Pedro Dimas, and Reymundo Dimas; 6 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by all her extended family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 1 PM to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 8 AM with a chapel service at 10 AM. Interment will be at 11 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park.
