Maria de Lourdes Ruiz, 78, of San Benito, Texas, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend entered into eternal rest on September 29, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Amador Ruiz Jr.; parents Eustacia Huerta and Arturo Jurado.
Left to cherish her memory are her children David Ruiz (Sandy), Amador Ruiz III (Velma), Rodolfo Ruiz, and Veronica Ruiz (Miguel); brothers Carlos Jurado and Marco Antonio Huerta; 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was an LVN for over 50 years touching thousands of lives in her nursing career and dedicated her life to caring for her family and patients. She loved cooking everyone’s special meal, baking all sorts of goodness to share with friends and family. We want to give a big thank you to all the nurses and CNA’s from DHR Hospice who excelled in the care of our Beloved Mother.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 1 PM to 8 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Parish located at 121 Garrison Drive, San Benito, Texas. Interment will follow at 11 AM at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas
