Evangelina Mata, 62, of Brownsville, TX, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest September 4, 2021, at Valley regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in in Ejido Juanillo, Matamoros Tamaulipas.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ignacio Balboa Arroyo, and Josefina Balboa Barrera; siblings Cecilio Balboa, Felix Balboa, Juana Balboa De Melendez, and Maria Alfa Balboa.
Left to cherish her memory is her lovely husband, Erasmo Mata; children Eva Aguilera (Juan Aguilera Jr.), Elsa J. Rey (Jesus Rey Jr.), Karina E. Balboa, and Lizette Mata; siblings Lucinda Balboa, Leobardo Balboa, Candelaria Balboa de Rivera, Socorro Balboa de Uribe, and Magdalena Balboa; grandchildren Juan Aguilera III, Aaron Aguilera, Lauren Rey, Leia Rey, and Erasmo Damian Balboa.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday, September 10, 2021, from 10:00 A.M.– 8:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the end of the evening.
