Christopher Nicholas Cancino

Christopher Nicholas Cancino passed away on August 23, 2021, in Brownsville, Texas. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Juan and Maria Guadalupe Vera and his uncle Sergio Vera.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Ruben H. Vera and Angelina Cancino; maternal grandparents Jose and Manuela Cancino; aunt Rosalinda Cancino McAdoo; cousin Alexa Headrick; half-sister Erika Karina Mireles and his beloved and faithful canine buddy “Rocky”.  He is also survived by numerous paternal uncles, aunts and cousins who loved him very much.

Christopher graduated from Los Fresnos High School in 2015 where he was an outstanding defensive lineman on the football team (Big 90).  He enjoyed fishing with his uncles Carlos and Kevin and hanging out with his beloved and faithful canine buddy. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends whom he loved like brothers and sisters. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 1 PM to 8 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 9 AM at Immaculate Conception Cathedral with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Proud and honored to be serving as his pallbearers are his dear friends and brothers Ben Alvarado, Joseph Alvarado, David Guerrero, Daniel Guerrero, Jonathan De Leon, Alex Ibarra, Kage Taylor and Robert Arreola.
