Christina Ruiz

Christina Perez Ruiz was born January 11, 1980, to Maria Guadalupe Perez and Abran Perez Jr. in Brownsville, Texas.

Christy is preceded in death by her grandparents Jacinto Iglesias Gonzalez and Maria de Jesus Gonzalez.

She is survived by her husband Jesus Ruiz, daughter Jazmine Ruiz, son Axl Ruiz, parents Abran and Maria Guadalupe Perez, sisters Adriana Perez and Nancy Marie Perez along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Christy was a student at El Jardin Elementary, Perkins Jr. High school where she met one of her best friends Yvonne Leija. She graduated from Gladys Porter High School of Technology where she would add to her list of best friends, Ricky Aguilar. She received her bachelor’s in education from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Christy was a Pre-K teacher in the Harlingen ISD. During her four years of teaching, she became the best at her profession, and loved every minute.

On December 24, 2007, Christy married the love of her life Jesus Ruiz. Jesus already had a daughter Jazmine which she would love as her own. On August 5, 2015, she would bless our family with a little miracle baby boy Axl. Jazmine and Axl were her pride and joy.

Christy’s past time was spending time with kids, cooking her award-winning nasty beans, and watching Television.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 1 PM to 8 PM with the prayer service at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel service will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home at 9 a.m. with burial to follow at 10 AM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the guidance of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory & Flower Shop. 657 Springmart Blvd., Brownsville, Texas. (956) 350-8485

    My dear friend. May God’s Heavenly doors open wide upon your arrival. You are already missed. I am saddened by your passing. I pray over your beautiful family and send strength to your husband and children that they may find comfort in God’s loving arms.
