Maria G. Fuentes, 97, of Brownsville, Texas, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Spanish Meadows surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Harlingen, Texas on December 4, 1923.
She is preceded in death by her husband Juan Antonio Fuentes; sister Roberta Garcia; grandson Juan Antonio Resendez.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Amelia (David) Silva, Rosa (Jose) Resendez, and Fidela (Gerardo) Silva; brother Elias Garcia; sisters Lydia (Arturo) Pacheco and Gloria Martinez; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from 1 to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel will open at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, with a chapel service at 2 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 3 PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
