I remember the first time I met Squeezer. I was so star struck because he was a legend in Brownsville and I was actually meeting the man, the legend, the one and only Squeezer!! He had so many wonderful stories to tell throughout our friendship. My mom got serenaded by him as did myself and others in my family. The kids in my family would always ask if Squeezer would be attending our family parties because they wanted “that really nice, funny man that sings” to attend. He would serenade, but then put in a funny twist to the songs. He entertained and was the life of the party. Any time we would all get together and there was a group or even a DJ playing, Squeezer would be asked to go up on stage to sing. Everyone acknowledged him. EVERYBODY knew Squeezer!! We were so lucky to be in the presence of a star!! LOL-that’s how I felt. Even though he lived a long and wonderful life, I don’t feel we had enough time with him. Every time I will listen to Wasted days and wasted nights, I will remember Squeezer. It’ll make me smile, and I will shed a tear or two remembering a wonderful friend. RIP Squeezer.
